Proxy Setup
Configure proxies to protect your accounts and avoid rate limits.
Why Use Proxies?
Proxies are essential for managing multiple MEXC accounts:
- IP diversity - Each account uses a different IP address
- Rate limit avoidance - Distribute API calls across IPs
- Account protection - Prevent linking of accounts
- Geographic flexibility - Access from different regions
Important
Using multiple accounts from the same IP may trigger security flags on MEXC. We strongly recommend using dedicated proxies for each account.
Proxy Types
Residential Proxies
- IP addresses from real residential ISPs
- Highest trust level, least likely to be flagged
- More expensive but most reliable
- Recommended for important accounts
Datacenter Proxies
- IP addresses from data centers
- Faster speeds, lower latency
- More affordable than residential
- May be detected by some platforms
Mobile Proxies
- IP addresses from mobile carriers
- Very high trust level
- IPs rotate naturally with carrier pools
- Premium pricing
Supported Protocols
| Protocol | Format | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| HTTP/HTTPS | http://host:port | Most common |
| SOCKS5 | socks5://host:port | More versatile |
Proxy Format
Proxies should be entered in one of these formats:
host:port
host:port:username:password
username:password@host:port
http://username:password@host:port
socks5://username:password@host:port
Adding a Proxy
Global Proxy Settings
- 1. Go to Settings from the sidebar
- 2. Navigate to the Proxies section
- 3. Click Add Proxy
- 4. Enter the proxy in the supported format
- 5. Optionally add a label for identification
- 6. Click Test to verify connectivity
- 7. Click Save
Per-Account Proxy
- 1. Go to Accounts page
- 2. Click on the account to configure
- 3. In the account settings, find Proxy field
- 4. Select from saved proxies or enter a new one
- 5. Save the account settings
One Proxy Per Account
For best results, assign a dedicated proxy to each account. Don't share proxies between multiple accounts.
Testing Proxies
Before using a proxy, test it to ensure it works:
- Connectivity test - Verifies the proxy is reachable
- Speed test - Measures latency
- IP check - Shows the IP address being used
Proxy Rotation
Some providers offer rotating proxies:
- IP changes periodically or per request
- Can be good or bad depending on use case
- For trading, sticky sessions are usually better
- Ensures consistent IP during a trading session
Troubleshooting
Connection Failed
- Verify the proxy host and port are correct
- Check username/password if authentication is required
- Ensure the proxy isn't expired or suspended
- Try a different protocol (HTTP vs SOCKS5)
Slow Performance
- Choose a proxy closer to MEXC servers (Asia)
- Use datacenter proxies for lower latency
- Check if the proxy provider has usage limits
Proxy Blocked
- The IP may be flagged or blacklisted
- Try a different proxy from your provider
- Consider upgrading to residential proxies
Best Practices
- Dedicated proxies - Don't share between accounts
- Geographic consistency - Use IPs from realistic locations
- Quality providers - Don't use free proxies
- Regular testing - Verify proxies are still working
- Backup proxies - Have alternatives ready
